What inspired me to make this wrist cuff

“ It is the same in human life; there is in man likewise a fate that lends power to his life “~ Wilhelm

Refrigerators convey much about a person, and yes I am giving you privy to a peek at mine xxoo.

Likewise an artist's past works convey much about their current works. With that in mind I would like to take you on a wee tour.

Perhaps better recognized "as what inspired me to make this cuff"

This cuff is currently marketed with artistic partner Ricky Wolbrom of EDM Designs. It has been a decade collaborative exchange effort with my textile "fleshing out" and EDM's signature embellishments, concepts and marketing. Together we have branded a stunning steampunk accessory line and built a wonderful friendship.

Historically I am inspired to make charms and drop charm armatures by example of the Victorian "chatelaine"

a hooklike clasp or a chain for suspending keys, trinkets, scissors, awatch, etc., worn at the waist by women. a woman's lapel ornament resembling this.

Those of you that know me recognize my love for paper goods and the nontraditional mix of charms with paper was an easy delight to me.

You might also know of my love for textiles hence "why not"  paper, charm with textile an even more splendid level of assembling.

As for the cuff .... this is where the meld continues.

Redundant because most of you know of my 2011 published tutorial, however it is good example that I am still on this path,

notice the bird focal, tis similar build with the incorporation of the chatelaine nuance

and beyond too of course

I hope you enjoyed the tour and have an inspired rest of your day.

Very well researched and as the saying goes "fact is stranger than fiction". Truly a must see is the recent quintessential steampunk wedding photography posts superbly presented. For a mere "like" you gain a front row seat for watching this entertainment project come together.

EDM Designs and myself have also been busy with new additions to our steampunk bridal collection. Yes beautiful steamy builds hand stitched to vintage textile foundations.

as a Human I Age Physically as an Artist I Grow Creatively as a Spirit I continue physically in my art

Fear no art in such a way that all self established boundaries find reason for expansion . For me art is the active participation of creating cause and effect encounters without the risk of counter productive experiences. I am the artist who communicates with humanity through visual expression.  I am the scientist who constructs and evaluates tangible solutions. I am the spirit who possess the intuitive fortitude necessary for adapting to imagined outcomes that have yet to evolve into transcended reality. Aside from the popularly acknowledged Victorian steam engine powered nuances and the overly emphasized gear and time piece icons there exists unlimited definition to what is steampunk  and by what mentality did it emerge. As a steampunk artist my expressed interpretations of the appearance and character of a neo-victorian post-apocalyptic civilization is influenced most by Albert Einstein's sentiment “It has become appallingly clear that our technology has surpassed our humanity. I hope that someday, our humanity might yet surpass our technology.”  To that sentiment I would add, and it is by virtue of creative providence alone that inhibits the extinction of humanity.
